5 Mindset Shifts Needed To Create Success

Mindset isn’t just some buzz word to keep people in a mentor cage. You can’t skip the mindset work! On the contrary, it’s the beginning and the end of any successful relationship, task, or business venture. There’s so much that goes into creating success in our lives. Many people don’t end up achieving what they want in life because their mindset is never on the same page as their desires.

It wasn’t until I started doing more personal development work myself that I realized how pivotal mindset work is.

Mindset is a topic that I speak frequently about because it is so important and multi-faceted. Even when we are successful, imposter syndrome can sometimes take the wind out of our sails. Whether you’re an entrepreneur or have a 9 to 5, a huge mindset shift in order for success to happen is to stop comparing yourself to others and realize that you are amazing. You are exactly who you are supposed to be.

If I had known this before I would’ve saved me years of pain and struggle. We are brought up from childhood thinking that the more we do and the harder we work the more success we will create. Have you ever seen that very lazy person who barely does anything who’s always successful? Or that person who just has opportunities and money fall in their lap? They aren’t necessarily working hard or struggling for their success but they have a different mindset than you do.

That brings me to my first mindset shift for success…

You think, “I could never be as good as so-and-so.”

It’s healthy to focus on what others are doing as a point of reference, education, or inspiration. On the other hand, it’s not healthy to beat yourself up because you think that they have achieved some level of success that you could never create.

It’s all relative, baby!

If you don’t believe in yourself why should anyone else? There’s always going to be someone else doing something else that’s either similar to you.

The more you try to be like someone else, the more the universe will resist from giving you that. Sure, you might look up and have some things happen after being a copycat but it won’t last.

It’s like when more car accidents are created because the people driving are looking at the car crash. If you don’t focus on your own lane, you’ll never get to where you’re going because you’re too busy looking at what everyone else is doing.

It’s important not to look at someone else’s highlight reel and compare yourself. What you see on social media and even what people tell you to your face sometimes can only be taken with a certain amount of truth. Yes, they may have the greatest intentions and want to genuinely share what they have going on. And you can be happy for them without envying them. You have your own stuff going on. You are amazing just the way you are and the sooner you realize that the better off you will be!

Journal Prompt: Journal out a list of all the things that make you unique. Be very specific because there’s a lot you have to offer that you probably don’t realize!

Life is happening FOR me, not TO me.

In order to let go of past traumas and mindsets that are holding you back from your future success, you must acknowledge and accept who you are and what you want. You are completely valid and so is everything that you desire. Therefore, your personal success is completely contingent on whether or not you are the victim or the badass who’s creating a life worth living. You have to believe that life is happening in your favor, whether you can see it or believe it. Once you believe and realize that everything life has to offer is in your favor you will start to act as if that is completely and utterly true.

When I was working at my full-time job, I constantly felt battered and like the world was against me because of all the negative people around me. I was letting it control my life instead of taking on every day full of action and intentional promise.

If I had never learned that I was doing this I would probably still be stuck in the rut and unhappy. It’s one thing for someone to just tell you to flip a switch and feel happy, abundant, lucky, excited, or whatever. It’s completely another thing to genuinely feel it within yourself. That’s the work that you have to do on your own internally. You can read the books and you can hire the coaches but at the end of the day, the job is yours to actually create things that you are manifesting in the physical world.

Think about all the billionaires in most successful people that you know, they’re no different than you. The difference is that they believe and know that their success is inevitable. They will find a way to make it so easily and effortlessly.

For me, it happens all the time where if I stay positive during a crappy situation I feel good and instantly my external circumstances change. The other night I was working on the computer and it seemed like it was about to crash and I just stopped myself and remained calm and said a few gratifying affirmations about how much I appreciated having a working computer and how much I appreciate the Internet and the time we live in right now. Instantly my computer got itself together and everything I thought was deleted popped back up! I love it when an intentional mindset work works immediately!

Journal Prompt: Think about a time when everything seems really crappy, but it all ended up working out for the better and in your favor. Write down what you saw, felt, and heard at the moment. Really get into the vibe and lock on to have that feeling it feels. See, you can change your vibration in an instant!

Success is yours simply because you deserve it!

In order for the things on the outside world to materialize, your inner being has to be on the right frequency and aligned with what it is that you desire. The universe has your back and everything that you desire is one of your desires because you were meant to have it.

If you want more success, you need to make room for success in your life.

If you aren’t acting as though you are successful, then you won’t be.

If you aren’t creating opportunities for success, then you won’t have success.

If you aren’t working towards a successful relationship, then that relationship will never be there for you.

If you don’t love yourself and make time for self-care, how do you expect good things to happen for you if you can’t even make time for yourself?

If you’re stressed and frazzled, your mindset and vibration are off. We are energetic beings and we need to be tended to.

Journal Prompt: List the reasons you deserve what you want. Build your confidence around why you are completely ready to receive it.

Success is mine and inevitable.

Keep that affirmation on repeat!

Everything that you want to accomplish starts as a thought. Those that are created internally and then magnetized through actions and intentions out into the external world. Whatever or whoever it is that you desire you must believe that you are entitled to it and that it is already on the way. Now, that doesn't mean walk around acting like a jerk and making demands. You have to work for it.

You must believe that you were deserving of the success, the love, the adoration, the money! Without belief, there is no magic behind the mindset. In order to manifest things into reality, your mindset has to be crystal clear that you believe.

Journal Prompt: Journal out a list of affirmations about the things you are deserving of.

Gain clarity on your version of success and be consistent.

Success means something different for everyone. If you don’t know what it means for you how can you attract it? How can you become that next level person who achieved it if you don’t even know what it is?

Imagine that you were supposed to be somewhere and you were really excited to get there but you didn’t know the location. If you set your sights on a goal for some kind of success but have no idea what exactly that is and what it looks and feels like how can you start making moves towards it?

No matter what you do in life, consistency will always be your friend when it comes to manifesting and bringing the things you want to you. There’s a reason there are so many videos online about successful morning and night routines. The most successful people create routines and habits. The more they figure out something that works for them to get to where they want to be they continue to do it.

Have you ever done something and it worked and then you didn’t do it again and things started to go back to not working? This is probably one of the most obvious points but consistency is so important when it comes to goals and creating a life you actually enjoy living.

Consistency can mean a lot of things. It can mean being the person who consistently shows up doing what they need to do. It could mean consistently going after the opportunities you want even when they don’t work out. It can mean trying again and again and again even after things aren’t working out. The consistency is in recalibrating and figuring out what you could’ve done better and then doing it.

If you’re an entrepreneur, this is even more important. Creating consistent habits and schedules help with staying on track and are great for accountability. If you need that added boost, hiring a coach or joining a group coaching program or accountability group are great ways to stay on track and hold yourself to the things you want to create success out of.

Journaling Prompt:  Map out your goals and what would it take to get there. Be specific and set a certain timeframe. List of tasks that you do daily, weekly, and monthly that lead to the goal that you outlined above. Schedule time to get the things you want to be done. Literally put them on a calendar.

If you start applying these five mindset shifts now, you are setting yourself up for greatness.
